Warranty Provides Peace of Mind for Your Shipping

PACK & SEND offers Freight Plus Warranty, an optional extended service that provides coverage for physical loss or damage to your goods while in transit. This added protection ensures greater peace of mind, giving you confidence that your shipment is safeguarded from unexpected incidents. Whether you’re sending valuable, fragile, or high-volume consignments, our warranty option offers an extra layer of security for your goods throughout the shipping journey.
Why do I need Warranty cover?
While transport companies aim to provide reliable, timely, and secure delivery services at an affordable cost, they operate under conditions that limit their liability for loss or damage. At common law, carriers have strict obligations regarding the safe arrival of goods; however, to keep transport costs reasonable, all freight companies worldwide disclaim liability for loss or damage on their consignment notes.
As a result, the risk of loss or damage remains with the owner of the goods. Despite every effort to ensure safe delivery, unforeseen incidents can sometimes occur during transit.
Purchasing Freight plus warranty cover provides added protection, helping safeguard your goods against unexpected events while in transit. This gives you greater peace of mind, knowing that your shipment is covered in case of loss or damage.
How does it work?
PACK & SEND’s warranty cover is simple and easy to arrange. When booking your consignment delivery, just request warranty coverage, and a PACK & SEND representative will confirm whether your goods are eligible for protection against loss or damage.
If your shipment qualifies for warranty cover, PACK & SEND agrees to deliver your goods in the condition they were received. In the event of loss while in transit, we will compensate you for the market value of the goods up to the amount you have nominated on the consignment note. If the goods are damaged during transit, we will cover the reasonable cost of repairs up to the nominated amount.
This warranty covers physical loss or damage only and does not extend to consequential loss.
What are the Limits and Exclusions?
The limits and exclusions of warranty cover vary depending on how your freight is booked—whether through a PACK & SEND Service Centre or via our Online Self-Service system.
Service Centre Warranty Coverage
PACK & SEND Service Centres offer comprehensive protection for goods in transit, with no limits on most items. Unlike many other freight companies, which restrict coverage on delicate or high-value items, PACK & SEND provides warranty cover for a much broader range of shipments.
For example, while many freight companies do not accept artwork or provide any cover for it, PACK & SEND can arrange protection for such items. Additionally, there are no fixed value limits on covered goods; however, for shipments exceeding certain values, extra procedures may be required.
Excluded Items
Some categories of goods are not eligible for warranty cover, including:
- Bullion, cash, coins, banknotes, and negotiable items
- Jewellery, gold, silver, and precious stones, or items containing them
- Deeds, bonds, bills of exchange, or other documents representing money
- Credit cards and gift cards
- Livestock and bloodstock
- Living plants and biological specimens
Additionally, warranty cover is not available for services where there is no proof of delivery, such as:
- International Airmail (which lacks tracking and signature confirmation)
- 'Authority to Leave' shipments, where the sender authorises the item to be left at the delivery address without obtaining a recipient’s signature
